- Google has announced that it is developing an operating system for computers that are connected to the Google Chrome Web Browser.
- The OS called the Google chrome Operating System is initially intended for the tiny computer sectorr which are generally known as Netbooks.
- According to Google the OS would also be able to power full size PCs.
- This move by Google will sharpen the intense competition between Google and Microsoft whose Windows Operating System controls majority of the personal computers.
- According to Google speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS.
- The software is likely to be released online later this year under an open source licence which will enable an outside programmer to modify it.
- The Net Books running on this OS is likely to come for sale by 2010.
