Saina Nehwal shines at Super Series

  • Saina Nehwal exults world No. 3 chinese Lin Wang (12-21, 21-18, 21-9) at the Indonesian Open to win her maiden Super Series badminton title, the first by an Indian in Djakarta on Sunday.
  • Super Series is the highest category event in badminton. Saina Nehwal's win could propel her to a world ranking of No.6, the highest ever for an Indian woman.
  • India's last mafor title was P.Gopi Chand's All-England Triumph in 2001. Gopi Chand now coaches Saina.
  • The only Indian to be ranked world No.1 was Prakash Padukone in 1980.
