  • Make sure that the studio from where you decide to get your ears pierced is clean and has employed trained and licensed persons to carry out the job.
  • Check whether the equipment used for the piercing is sterilised and disposable needles are used for the purpose.
  • Request the professional to wear a pair of latex gloves to carry out the procedure.
  • Use warm water to rinse the pierced area and use a cotton swab to remove any crusting.
  • Apply some medicated cleanser to the pierced area.
  • Avoid use of alcohol and peroxide as they can dry the skin.
  • Don't allow the piercing gun to be used on any other body part as it may crush your skin causing injury.
  • Select a hypoallergenic jewellery. You can opt for jewellery made of surgical grade steel, titanium,14 or 18 karat gold.
