- Lake Titicaca is located on the border of Bolivia and Peru. It is located 3812m above sea level making it the commercially navigable lake in the world. By the volume of water it is the largest lake in South America.
- Titicaca or isla del Sol is a sacred place the site of the inca origin on the northern part of the island. The first Inca Manco Capac, the son of the Andean deity, identified as the Sun, is said to have emerged from a prominent crag in a large sand stone known as the Titicala,the sacred rock.
- A temple was built at this rock called the Chinkana. The passage ways are twisted to give the shape of a maize.
- The demands are on to consider Titicara as one of the wonders of the world.
