Now haclers target your phones too!
- Now a days with the introduction of windows on mobiles they are being used fust like personal computers.
- This means that the mobile phones are also exposed to the same computer menaces like hacking and virus attacks.
- The security experts have warned that hacking and viral attacks are quite possible on iPhones too.
- It is a fact that when there are security threats, there are also people looking for opportunities to capitalize on them. So Khosla ventures have come out with a solution called "Lookout" to tackle the menace.
- Lookout is looking out to be a giant in the mobile world just like Symantec's role played in the PC market.
- Lookout began testing security software for phones running the windows mobile and android operating systems and also planning to introduce security application systems for the blackberry and iPhone. The software protects the phones against rogue programs and gives owners the ability to back up and erase the data on their mobiles.
- With more people downloading through mobile phones the security threats are also greater. Hence it is a must to have some good security software installed on the mobile phones to keep a check on hackers and viruses.

A house intelligently designed to save energy.
- An environmentalist in Tokyo, Japan has intelligently designed his house to save energy.
- The house has solar panels on the roof, a cell at the backyard, the hot water pipes doubly functioning as heat insulation system and the lithium battery stores the excess slectricity.
- It is the high technology which gives this eco-house a cutting edge when it comes to low carbon housing.
- Panasonic, the maker of the eco idea house has fitted appliances that promise power saving at every step and at the same time ensuring a comfortable life style for the residents.
- The sensor in the house can recognise human presense, temperature and light. The sensor follows the people. For example, if a person is in the living room, the air condition will be on and if the person moves to the kitchen the kitchen lights will be on and the airconditioner and the lights in the living room will be automatically off, thereby avoiding wastage of energy.
- The eco-house also halves the water usage by simply tilting its drum and a fridge that learns the user's habits and goes into sleep mode when not required.

Now computer viruses not only spoil your hard disk but also your dignity.
- We heard about computer viruses spoiling our hard disk. But beware. Now they can even spoil your dignity.
- I am a Twitter account holder. One day my colleague called and informed me about a promotion of some obscene messages sent by me to my followers. I was shocked to hear this as I had never sent any such messages from my twitter account. Still I logged into my account and found nothing adverse where as my followers have been receiving such messages for about a week without my knowledge. So, beware. Now viruses can even spoil your dignity.
- These must be the brain work of some of the penetrators who want to earn commission on referrals to sketchy sites. What this shows is that there are also crooks in social bookmarking sites.
- These viruses can spread through a link attached to an e-mail. This can be checked by an antivirus software or firewall. So the installation of an antivirus software with continous updates is a must. But when the virus through web it is really difficult to check it. The best way to stay away from these viruses is to avoid visiting unreputed sites.

How to improve your chils's handwritting for a good score?
- I was a senior govt officer gifted with a beautiful handwriting. Both in my office and family I was always the preferred one to write from greeting cards to any thing of importance. With my children struggling to write neatly and the efforts that I and my wife had to put on them to make them wue neatly made me realise that what was so easy for me was not so easy for all children. I have seen my children struggling to write neatly resulting in avoidable mistakes and loosing marks and worst of all loosing impression. I am sharing herewith the experience I had with my children to make them write neatly and beautijully.
- Why a good handwritting is essential?
- The teachers today are more busy with tonnes of papers to correct. They are tempted to award better marks to a paper which is neatly written than to a paper with cuttings, cancellations and illegible handwritting. Make the children realize this fact.
- Handwritting types:
- The handwritting can be of three types viz straight, left slanting and right slanting. Make your chils write a paragraph. If most of the alphabets are straight, he adopts a straight hand and if most of the alphabets are tilting to the left then he adopts a left tilt handwritting and if most of the alphabets are tilting to the right then he adopts a right tilting handwritting. Just observe what type of handwritting your child adopts and make him adhere to the same.
- Watch out for grip:
- See that your child holds the pen / pencil with the thumb to the left and the indes finger on the right and the other three fingers as support. See that the pencil should have support on the knuckles and never on the groove.
- Paper position:
- The note book or the paper should be kept at an angle to the edge of the tabe to ensure that there is sufficient gsp for free movement of hand.
- Non-writing hand:
- The left hand should be used to hold the book or paper at its position.
- Correct hand position:
- See to it that your child maintain a correct hand position . The writing hand should futlly rest on the table and should not dangle down as this will create strain while writing for long hours. Further see to it that the seat is not too low from the table as the child will not be able to maintain proper contact with the writing.
- Pressure:
- See to it that the child does notexert too much pressure on the paper. This will increase his speed of writing.
- Size:
- Alphabets can be classified into three types viz
- Alphabets with stem:- h, b,d......
- Alphabets of same siz p,q,y.....
- Alphabets of same size viz a, e,s......
- Practice the children to maintain the size of the alphabets and make them understand its importance like if you reduce the size of h it will appear as n.
- Follow these tips:
- Practice the children to write neatly without cancellations and over writings .Even if there is a need to cancel just put a line on the item to be cancelled.
- Write the words properly on the line.
- Maintain space between two words.
- Leave reasonable space between two paragraphs.

- Karma:
- I beleive in Karma. I mean good thoughts lead to good habits which in turn lead to good actions. So our destiny is in our own hands. My teachers always use to tell me that put your best in whatever you do without worrying about the results. Further I beleive that what ever I am today follows from what I have done in my previous life. So do good deeds now as you and only reap the results of your karma.
- Where does true happiness lie?

EVR salai the most dangerous road of Chennai.
- With 17 deaths in 2009,EVR salai has become the most dangerous killer road of Chennai.

- Cnn we just think for a moment what is the main cause for the accidents in these stretches. The reasons are lack of wide roads, poor road conditions, lack of pedestrian facilities, poor lighting and overspeeding.
- The concerned authorities need to take corrective measues like developing the infrastructure, prividing adequate facilities and constructing speed breakers to bring a solution to this problem.

Is modern technology parting us away from our near and dear ones?
- Now a days it is a common scene to see peopls at market places, railway stations and roads to see people talking on their mobile phones. Some times I even feel that the mobiles are glued to our hands. Many of us spend most part of our lives sending messages, calling or answering calls. Thanks to the various mobiles that have come to the market with variety of features.
- Some times wonder whether modern technology has really improved our standard of life or creating a distance in our emotions in life.
- Given here are a few steps as to how we should manage our life with the use of modern technology and at the same time not to loose the emotions and charm of our life to modern technology.
- It is not always advisable to talk using modern gadgets like mobiles, laptops etc. It is fine asfar as our job is coneerned. But the problem is these gadgets has a strange effect on its users. Their observation become limited to shat they are doing and fail to observe what is happening around them. They hesitate to have eye contact and chat with others in person. What an irony? The modern technology which aims at making our world smaller is itself making us apart.
- What is the indicator? How can we know that we are becoming the victims of modern technology at the cost of our personal life. Ask the following questions to yourself and if your answer to nay of them is 'yes' then you are becoming a victim of modern technology and we need to change our life style immediately to avoid severe damage.
- Are you ignored or are you ignoring somebody for the reason of working on a computer or talking on a mobile?
- Are you interrupted by a phone call when a conversation about an important aspect is on in the family?
- Are you ignoring or your family members complaining so for the reason of your spending long time on computers, laptops or mobiles surfing the net, messaging, talking, chatting, sending e-mails etc.
- Your question may be that should we avoid using modern gadgets? No. Not at all. We do need to use the modern gadgets. But not at the cost of your family life. Give the time they deserve from you. Further you can share with them interesting results of surfing or messages received. In case of musec lovers it can be enjoyed with the family members. See to it that the modern gadgets do not suceed in breaking the family bond.

Can you taste names?
- Generally we say what is there in a name? But it does matter to James Wannerton in Blackpoolsynaesthesia who lives with a condition called synaesthesia due to which his sense of taste is connected to his sense of hearing.
- As a result all sorts of noise triggers this fifty year old man's taste sensation.
- Different names trigger different taste buds to this person. On hearing the name of Tony Blair he gets the taste of coconut in his mouth whereas on hearing the name of Christina he gets the taste of salt in his mouth.
- I feel this person is lucky as he need not have different variety of foods to enjoy different tastes as he has just to hear different names for this purpose. Alas! but one issue is he may not be in a possition to choose the noise or name suiting his taste.

Tips on how to meditate blissfully.
- We have succumbed or surendered life to hurry and haste. Is it not so? Our day begins with hurrying up to the workplace or college, hasty eating of food, hurrying up to catch the bus or trainn Have you ever thought what would be the ultimate of surrendering ourself to haste. The result is that we loose all our life pleasures, get ourselves strained and over stressed resulting in blood pressure and other undesired ailments at a very early age. I kept thinking to myself where does the solution fie for this problem/ The solution that came to my mind is meditation.
- I have also observed many people complaining that meditation did not give them possitive results. On analysing I realised that peoople become over enthusiastic and succumb to haste as usual even while meditating. Here are a few tips as to how to meditate blissfully.
- Practice meditation as a potent spiritual activity irrespective of any religion that benefits and enhancees your life dramatically.
- Keep thinking and saying in your mind that you are practising meditation as a tool to transcend you to eternity and that you continue to enjoy it without becoming addicted to it.
- Be like a child during meditation. Remove all notions and ideas that you heard from others as otherwise expectations and hopes will make you overenthusiastic making you hurry or haste durinf meditation.
- Avoid comparing the benefits that you gained in the previous days with the meditation that you are performing today as this will you slow yor down in the process.
- While meditating keep saying to yourself that "I have the whole tine of the world available to me for meditation. I am born in this world just to meditate and realise myselt. Request to the God to reveal himself before you".
- Breathe as slowly as you can. Take 5 to 7 seconds to inhale, 5 seconds to hold and 5 to 7 seconds to exhale. If you are doing this in 2 to 4 seconds it is an indication of haste overtaking.you in meditation.
- Consider meditation as a karma yoga that every one needs to perform to promote one's health.

- Add more grains to your diet to have strong nails.
- Never cut the cuticles and calluses as the cuticles protect the nails from infection and the calluses will grow back harder giving you discomfort.

- Wearing rubber gloves while doing the house work is advisable. This will protect your nails from the harsh chemicals used in detergents.

- Consume foods which are rich in zinc like boiled eggs and milk. You will observe them doing wonders to your nails.
- Avoid filing the nails just after a bath as at this time they tend to be weaker and break easily.

How to improve instincts?
- This is very simple and yet powerful way to centre yourself while awakening your internal stamina expecially in this competitive climate.
- The Navel Chakra is the place where you gathe and alchemize prana or life force. When the Navel Chalkra is active, your instincts and timing in life improve.
- Now the question is how to do Navel centre breathing?
- Sit in a lotus or semi lotused position (a crossed leg sitting posture) on the floor.
- With your hands form a circle infront of the Navel with the left hand on top of the right hand and tips of the thumbs touching each other.
- Now inhale and exhale slowly and deeply while focussing on the Navel.
- Do not visualize or over concentrate. Do this for five minutes.
- Practising Navel centre breathing encourages the circulation of energy around the body while you charge the Navel and its storage bins.
- This can also be done standing, the knees bent slightly which will enhance you consciousness and instincts.
- Navel breathing with the chanting of Om increases your rate of vibration and alighns your consciousness with the soul.
- Start with synchronized breathing. Inhale rapidly through your nose as you tilt your head upwards and exhale rapidly through your mouth as you tilt your head downwards. Do this 10 times. Keep your head vertical and concetrate at the centre of your chest, mid brow and top of the head. Do this 3 sets.
- Using the same Mudra as before recite Om mentally or verbally. Hold your breath for a few seconds between inhalations and exhalations. While reciting Om concentrate on the head, mid brow and heart simultaneously. Do this for 2 minutes. For the next 3 minutes think and be aware that you are the soul and the divineself.
